Silence of Solitude
Words
struggle
behind the dam of your gaze
As if they know
longing
has torn
the throat of silence
with the claw of night
You flee from my eyes
and I
like a lamp
that knows the wind
still stand
on the edge of darkness
within the light of your memories
Perhaps
your voice
will pass through me
from somewhere within
like a stream
that learns how to walk
toward a wound
between ash and rain
You don’t know
how your absence
slowly…
mercilessly
pulls my name
from the mouth of loneliness
until
this fevered ache
remains
a burning wound
