when the sirens teach the night to scream
Sirens echo through the night,
and bodies begin to tremble.
Fear seeps into the marrow,
splitting the soul from within.
Then the first shot rips through the silence —
not fired, but screamed —
and the sky breaks open
asbombs begin to fall.
Light devours the darkness,
blinding, merciless, white.
Everything shines —
yet what some still dare to call hope
settles like a funeral veilover the hollowed faces below.
Dust rises.
Debris whispers through the air.
The metallic scent of blood
clings to every breath.
And slowly —
so slowly you almost mistake it for survival —
something inside you fractures.
Not bone.
Not skin.
Something softer.
Humanity is losing its humanity.
It crumbles like the buildings in the war —
stone after stone,
until nothing stands
but smoke and silence.
