The clock strikes twelve, the hour is cold
February 14th, a day to grow old
The world outside is full of delight
But in my heart, there's only endless night
The city's aglow with love's sweet flame
Couples embracing, hearts that still proclaim
Their love for each other, pure and true
But I'm alone, with nothing to do
The roses wilt, the chocolates uneaten
The cards unsent, the words unspoken, unseated
The silence screams, a deafening sound
As I lay here, lost, without a love to be found
The hours tick by, slow and gray
As I face another Valentine's Day
Without a hand to hold, a heart to share
I'm left to wonder, if love will ever be there
The clock strikes on, the night grows old
I'm left to face the darkness, cold
The world may celebrate, but I'll mourn
For on this day of love, I am forlorn.
