This is where our story really did begin
You see, I used to always look at the clock right at exactly 10:10
Thinking, "no way, that's crazy, not again!"
I would think stuff like "is then when I die? Or "is it when I marry my dream guy?"
I wish this story was really just a lie
Cuz It was something I couldn't even see
It was a broken off branch from him and his family tree
The place you set your feelings free
Damn baby, I wish I could of warned you
Or saw that it wasn't even about me
That time, that text, your address they were parts of the key
our clues of what was going to be
this part of our story I had to share
So please know that what I write, is the truth, I swear
I just wish it said, " caution 10:10 means BEWARE!"
Or a warning of a place so unfair
A home that seems nobody did care
A home full of so many memories and a man who was so rare
A place I just drift off and with a blank stare
As my mind wonders and my soul just tares
Reminiscing about a love I really do miss
Our story goes like this
It was the night we had our first kiss
We talked everyday for 3 weeks or so
We we're dying to meet, that's all i know
You were in Kentucky sending me pics of how you wish I was there with you to play in the snow
You picked "what if" as your song to me, your heart really started to show
Finally, you were back in town and I got ready to go
I sent you a text sometime after ten or so
Saying, ok, I need your address and I just hit send
I opened your reply and thought oh my god, no way, not again
How crazy you sent your address right at 10:10
then I thought, "could this time just be about him?"
Or Maybe it's when we say our i do's?
I just never saw it as your end
I wish God had given me more clues
I never imagined it was about your death
The place I would find my love without life
Where he took his last breath
the death to a dream of one day being your wife
I don't even look at the clock anymore
I died with you in that house as I hurt to my core
That i stood in a place where you and us was a no more
But I will hold that memory of that first night you smiled and grabbed my hand then said, "here, I will give you a tour"
And I remember thinking "he is all I want and i never need anyone more!"
A text about a place I found the man nobody could replace
A time when I never felt so sure
A time where I thanked God and thought "now he is really worth living for!"
I love you forever mike brown
And now, as you walk on God's floor
Just so you know you were also my cure
my thoughts of suicide also died that day I walked out your door
I'm chose life for me like never before
So I thank you for the lesson to live
Eventually, I pray, that myself, I am able to forgive
But first, thanks again
You gave me a gift I now see
That was the best gift you could of ever given to me
