Almost Midnight here
We've had a power cut for an hour
Nearly 700 hundred homes
Are still without their power
I just had a call
To check I was ok
A lovely girl called Jackie
From up round Ipswich way
I'm on their list it seems
Of people frail and weak
I assured her I was fine
But was very nice to speak
My battery running low
As I'm typing out this line
I've got candles and paper
So don't worry I'll be fine
Just gone 1am now
The beeping is annoying
The store across the street
Sanity destroying
They estimate by 2
Or maybe 3 it will be fixed
Torchlight finds my vodka
With it tonic I then mixed
I'll pause here for a while
As there's one Verse left to go
I'll just wait for the outcome
So you all too can know
Not a long pause
Just 6 minutes and it's on
The worry of my freezer food
My only worry gone
