I been caged for years
In fact, I been caged before I even got here
I'm coming up on 32 years of being imprisoned mentally
While you've been locked up for 32 physically
Leaving me afraid to let anyone get close to me
Because I'm afraid of the possibility of what could be
No.....I'm not saying this for pity
Or just to make others feel guilty
But what I'm saying......that when they imprisoned you
They inadvertently did the same to me
Because I spent years worrying with a tendency
To overthink
Because I've been inadvertently locked
Restricting me to see
Because when they took away you
They strip of away part of me
Leaving me afraid,afraid of the possibility
Of what could be.....because when they put shackles on you
They did the samething to me
