A BURREN MOTHER

So petty she was
With a lover she married
Several times concieved
And successfully she delivered
So she breast fed
That soon she bred
For the future perhaps
That soon she lost
Together with the lover
That alone must live
None to share her joys
Not even her woes
Yet all alive
Whom she delivered
Yet alone she lives
Her husband to blame
And the judges to hate
For it was they that stole
Her rights
That lonely must die
A burren mother to mock
For it's all the same
A burren mother she lives.
