One day about four years ago
I put some food out for the birds
Many birds came, Sparrows and Jays
And this Red-Feathered guy also heard
A beautiful Cardinal, so nice to see
Spending a minute pecking on bread
After it was finished, it flew away
I guess it had made other plans instead
I can't wait until spring
