A country

There lives a country
In the western coast of Africa
Born out from the elegancy of the black colour
Her soils stays dark with fine nutrients
And with the blood of lost souls and struggles
A quick glance at her past
Dispicts pictures of pains hidden in facades
Shrinking from the ambience of greatness
To the pitiable corridor of shame
Falling and rising like the tide of the ocean
With her riches lying across her shores
Often caught in the waters of negligence
With her sense of obligation lost in the crowd
Of overwhelming urge for corruption
Giving her unpleasant fame among nations
Oh country! Birthed from the blood of her fallen heroes
Coming from the dark tunnels of wars and conflicts
Contented and tolerant towards mediocrity
Yet graciously forgiving towards treason
With diversity created in unison
And justice often not served in prisons
She is unsettled like the dust caught by the wind
And her existence stays threatened by her
