A crimson campfire

My eyes glimmer in a scintilla of awe—
mostly of love,
as my gaze is fixed onto you—
glowing brighter than ever,
for you are my sun,
my fire,
my soul.
For like a crimson campfire,
covered in flames of burnt sienna and tawny,
I bask in your warmth.
The warmth of your eternal love ever so gracefully,
and painfully,
etching into my heart that has suffered too many,
and so many silent wars that it can't handle to be held by a person again,
but this time was different.
As if my bunumbed heart needed to have one last war to experience warmth,
and it was trusting you.
These internal frostbites of nameless aches I held for so long in my heart,
I finally start to open it up to you.
Little by little,
just like tiny baby steps,
you etch into my heart slowly for the first time,
trying out symbols before letters,
and then letters before words,
then words to sentences,
before I know,
you had written the most beautiful sonnet in the walls of my heart,
etched in warmth,
which my heart was finally basking in.
So now, I thank you,
for creating a miniature furnace in my heart as our sacred oasis.
For just like a crimson campfire,
You burn me,
as I melt into you,
glowing brighter than ever,
for you are my sun,
my fire,
my soul,
and you will always be mine,
forever.

I'm sorry for the sudden inactivity since I was so busy these past few months, but now that I have free time, I can post some of my poems that have been just stuck on my drafts lol
