I would like to have a dog
And a cat to be it's friend
They can play together
All day until they go to bed
Each with their own blanket
And toys to keep them busy
Long walks with the dog
Stopping at every post and tree
Cats are independent
May come and go anytime
Travelling to visit other cats
For me that would be fine
Spoiling them with treats
Petting them consistently
Constantly talking to them
And to praise them I believe
They would be best friends
With their own comfy beds
But prefer cuddling together
And side by side getting fed
The dog would protect us
Both me and the cat
The cat would catch any mice
Into his paws in two seconds flat
A trio that we would be
The three musketeers
I would like for a long time
For many many years
