A dog like you

When you laid at my feet
My toes stayed warm
A dog like you was a treat
You kept me from harm
We laid back to back to sleep
First you would dig your paws
Putting the covers in a heap
Getting comfy before sawing logs
I would wake up in the morning
You would stay in bed
Soon I would get my day soaring
You'd curl back up instead
When you decided it was time
You would come get me
Then that would be a sign
For you to go outside and pee
A dog like you is irreplaceable
A dog like you was enough
You made my life so full
A dog that I will always love
