A Friend I Ever Want

I am alone
I feel often blue
I want a pal
Whom I can lean unto
I want to share my secrets,
My pain, dreams, and regrets.
I want a friend, true and honest
Who tells me of my flaws
And hides to me none of the truth.
The friend I wish is open book
Who I can read in just a look
I wish no secrets barred between,
Yet I'll respect, he'll disclose when.
The friend I ever want is sincere,
He loves me true, and he is dear,
No hearsay can dismantle.
Can you be the one?
Or maybe one of them?
The friend I ever wanted...
I am here waiting.
