A Gem I'd Die For.

As a caterpillar, you crept unnoticed into my life,
Within no time, a stunning butterfly emerged,
Your beauty rendered me numb, I couldn't move,
I was stuck with you forever but there was no place
I'd rather be.
You took me into your little bubble,
Assured me it was rigid enough to
handle both our baggage,
Became a treasure I'd kill for,
A gem I'd die for.
I should have know you wouldn't reciprocate
the kind gesture. I should not have allowed
myself to fly with you so high into the sky.
Maybe we should have landed on the clouds,
'cause they cry too.
You act mute now,
Being handsome,
Flaunting that physique and
Displaying a cheeky grin
Is what you do best.
I admit I don't blame you,
Rather, myself. Not for adoring you,
but for turning a blind eye to your filth.
I'd strike the match myself if I could,
Don't bother apologizing, just
let me know when you need your knife back!
