A girl's last love letter

To the boy i see
everyday on a daily basis,
If adam and eve were to
describe their relationship
thru a bleeding pen that flickers
solemn rhymes from
'Romeo & Juliet',
they would probably
write about an apple
slowly decaying
with worms
until it's owner
has forgot about this
distilled lament
over apples
and worms.
So here, i tell you,
if we were
to steal hearts from one
another like praying mantises
mating, i would keep yours
in my insensible sleeve of mine.
In a society of mantises,
we chose to love hard
in a way that
the whole bed is
a stage playing botched
performances,
in a way that
the man thinks
we are an undone
piece of laundry
and that they have a
right to fold us properly,
if only we
were the kind
of couples
that we see
on the street,
admiring how
the girl
gets to conquer the
man's hands with her
hands as if she
was the king
of the jungle
kingdom.
So, sorry if i didn't let
you conquer over my
body like a piece of laundry
itself.
Sorry if i didn't
let you perform
on my stage.
Your home address
written on my
ancient fingernails,
in that way,
my own
hugs feels
like yours.
And most
importantly,
sorry for
not folding
myself.
Imagine
your middle
name crawling
back in the exotic
walls,
mandala etches,
gas leak,
tiny
fingerprints
of patriarchy
are left behind.
I once called
you 'the lion'
who has the
right to
silence our
'roar' and our
gnarly smile,
but how can a lion
be a flock of sheep
also?
Fear made
you smell it,
it really did.
Cause once
i knew a lion,
now all i see
is a flock of sheep,
one of them
being you,
getting lost
in the yelping,
buoyant,
burnt
land of lions,
which my
fingernails
etched your
middle name,
hoping you
would come back,
again.
Once that
you've swallowed
Oizys, herself,
and find freedom in
her hair locks,
once you
get punished
by Anteros,
you'll
soon recognize
that patriarchy
itself is a
thief
to foreign love.
They told me
that once you
repeat a word
many many
times,
it loses it's
meaning,
imagine
stuttering
the word 'loved',
the meaning clawed in
your throat,
you might
remember
the times of me
weeping.
So tell me,
are you
loved or
just have a
fear of not
being
'loved'?
From: Your local
girl, Sarah.

Anteros- punishes those who spurn the love of others. Yet Anteros is also the god of requited, or 'returned', love and he punishes only those who fail to reciprocate love.
