Every step I take
I stagger back two more
I feel my bones begin to break
As I stumble to reach the door
It slams shut in my face
But as this one closes,
Another refuses to open
I try different poses,
Yet none can help this bent spine of mine
I'm in pain, yet it seems no one knows this
Then when help is offered, I must decline
I'm not sure where
I'm taking these verses
But I'm sure its there...
Somewhere, trapped in inertia
Such is common of me
As I normally bleed,
I do now, though not the same
I pour emotions onto the pages
Ink bleeds through one behind it
Like people, I presume.
Though it isn't intended,
Another is affected but the weakness
By the lack of strength in the other.
So I must be stronger
I must be fiercer
I must fight longer
I must try enough to protect the pages...
All of the pages behind me.
So while I stagger two steps back
I will plant both my feet
Push forward on track,
And my destiny I will meet.
Climbing the highest mountain
Conquering the largest kingdom
Tracing the longest trail
And finding
The most perfect queen or king to hail
I will fight onward
No matter the cost
Breaking bones as I push forward
I will find what I have lost
