A Letter to the Lost

My pen touches the page,
A deep red ink spills its rage,
As I try to reach out to you,
A friend whose whereabouts are unknown, it's true.
You were a companion, a confidant,
A person who made my world enchant,
But now, you're gone, vanished into the unknown,
Leaving me behind, feeling so alone.
I miss your smile, your laughter, your warmth,
The memories we shared, now a fading form,
And yet, I don't know where you are,
A lost friend, leaving me with this scar.
I wonder where you've gone,
If you're safe, if you're alone,
Are you happy, are you free?
Or struggling, like me?
But still, I write these words,
In hopes that they'll be heard,
That somehow, you'll know I care,
And that my love for you will always be there.
So, my dear friend, wherever you may be,
I hope this message finds you, to set you free,
And that someday, we'll meet again,
Until then, my ink will continue to stain.
