A Losing Fight

The world seems empty, a bleak and barren land
Where sorrow reigns and darkness holds its hand
Each day a struggle, a battle with myself
I am drowning, consumed by my own helplessness
I try to find some light to guide my way
But my mind is clouded, lost in shades of grey
I hear the whispers of hope, the faintest sound
But it withers away, lost in the void profound
The weight of my anguish, a constant strain
My heart aches, my soul writhes in pain
A prisoner to my own thoughts, trapped inside
I scream for help, but my voice fails to amplify
Tears fall like rain, a torrential downpour
As I crumble, defeated, on the cold hard floor
I try to rise again, to find the strength within
But the darkness prevails, and I let out a helpless grin
Futile attempts at escape, searching for respite
But depression and grief are relentless, a constant fight
I try to find a way out, a glimmer of hope
But the path remains obscured, beyond my rope
The days continue, lost in a never-ending cycle
My mind a prison, a torturous domicile
I yearn for freedom, to break out of this hold
But depression and grief are ruthless, cruel and bold
I struggle, I fight, with all my might
But sometimes it feels like I'm losing the fight
But still, I hold on, to the hope that there's a way
To break free from this void, to live to see another day
