A Love Unwillingly Grown

A Love Unwillingly Grown

A Love Unwillingly Grown

I remember the day I saw her, my gaze was locked in place

In my mind, I thought I should look away, but my heart was in a daze

Mesmerized by beauty, I stood still, unable to move

Something was planted in my heart that day, a feeling I couldn't improve

A seed of emotion, sown without my consent

I felt it growing, taking root, and I was powerless to prevent

It grew with every thought, every glance, every sigh

A flame that flickered, a heart that couldn't deny

The feelings developed, like a flower in bloom

Unwilling, but unstoppable, it grew, and I was consumed

I poured my thoughts into it, like water to a seed

And the heat of my emotions, made it grow, like a sun-kissed deed

It grew with every moment, every passing glance

A love that I didn't choose, but was helpless to stay

I tried to resist, but it took hold of me

A flower of love, that would bloom, wild and free

But seasons came, and with them, pain

Doubt and longing, a heart in vain

Storms of uncertainty, cold winters of desire

The fragile flower, was battered, and took a dire

The thunder of heartbreak, struck me like a blow

The news of another, and my heart let go

The flower began to wilt, its petals fade

And I was free, from the pain it had made

I grew a love, unwillingly, a love that was not mine

A love that suffered, and caused me endless pain

But in the end, it set me free, from the chains that bound

A bittersweet release, from the love that I had found
