A Marty's Mind

With every rumble and stroke of thunder
The light and sparks that flied
And settled on a dusty ground
With the mist of war, still alive.
The ground was red, the smoke was dark
The souls were flying around
The keepers of hell, and heaven alike
were there to check the ground.
Endless cries from the many lips
that endless pain and agony
Could be heard from miles away
The place where brothers were waiting.
As the clock ticked its circle
And as the day turned night
A wooden room with me inside
was brought to my mother’s sight
Still with thought, still with sadness
My family all went numb,
I was gone, and gone forever
Leaving with tears, though remorse was none
I fought valiantly for my motherland
So that you could play and sleep
So you enjoy your family’s love
While I’m somewhere deep
No need to thank, no need to bless me
No need to give me gold
Just love your motherland as your mother
It’s for her, this soul was blown.
