Their lives were taken away in an instant, just before their eyes.
Driving home that night, oh what a surprise.

They were gonna be planning their wedding but now their parents will be planning their funeral day.
They should have taken home a different route that night.
They didn't even have a chance to fight.

Oh what a terrible mess.
Two young lovers, that had so much to look forward to.
They didn't even get justice done, because nobody knew the truth.
The man who did this, was a drunken driver, who chose to lie his way out.
There was no proof, that's what his story was about.
The two families never got closure, and the suspect walks away free.
How could they not honor them and look more into what happened that night, how could they let it be.
It was a night no one will forget,
It was a night, full of anguish and fret.
