A Prayer, My King

I have been on my knees my King
My face on the ground
Tears running down these cheeks to the floor
In search of solace
For a place of quiet contentment
Satisfaction in this path that I now tread
But this can not be my path
It is cold, dreary...devoid of life and love
You created me with all that is inside me
Thus this path can not be mine
Rise up as you did for the women of old
For Ruth, Esther, Mary, Rebecca, Racheal
Grant me my prayer as you did theirs
Do not let me stand beside no one
Separate me from the void on my side
My King I ask for only from you do I seek
As you have granted me many a prayer
By your kindness and mercy,
Grant me this one as well.
