When I was born
I wrote my destiny
Not in the cabin sipping tea
But serving my country in glee.
I was aware
Of the tensions on the border
And of the ice-land siachen
Still I chose a life
Full of difficulties and pain.
I miss the love of my family
I also miss my beloved friends
The least I can do is
Smile while remembering them.
That proud feeling, that proud moment
When cadre in camouflage
I vow in my country name
To not let our ‘Tiranga' stained.
Yes I know my end
Possibly it will be same
Only difference it will make with yours
Is a few pension in my name.
Trust me I don’t stand in the sun for money
I don’t bear hardships for any flattery
It’s the invoked passion that pulls
And energizes me to tackle the enemies.
If you ought to have an iota of respect
Oh fellow Indians
Come what may
My sacrifice should not go in vain.
