Coloured men fell
from chocolate skies
while candy coatings
filled their eyes.
They came with their
color already baked in
while sweet pepsi sweat
covered their skin.
They brought sweetness
to this bitter earth
which we used to
gauge their worth.
Some didn’t taste
quite good enough
even when made of
marshmallow fluff.
So we ate them whole
And drank their dew
But they had a taste
We became addicted to.
So we couldn’t stop
until we ate them all
which ended in
our bitter downfall.
When we finished no
sweetness was left to eat
and so we consumed the
bitterness we’d excrete.
But the bitterness
could no longer satisfy
no matter what we ate
we began to die.
Once we were dead
their sweetness returned
to this earth that
they had earned.
Now it’s their sweetness
that consumes the waste
and leaves behind
a sweeter taste.
So learn from us and
cling to the sweet
cuz’ when it’s not there
what will you eat?
