We were not told of his Birth
Meaning our route and roots to the Earth
Does not have to be the Best
For us to be Spiritually Heard
The early church had a Problem
With issues of resources being Shared
A Deacon likened to a Minister was to be Appointed
And his name stood out Loud and Clear
Seven was to be chosen from a tribe of Twelve
And he Stephen was chosen to be the Head
The truth he spoke without Fear
His job with forthrightness and integrity he Dispensed
Encouraging God's Children
That persecutions we should Expect
Crises we will overcome and Bear
Even if it culminated in Death
Our persecutors we must administer Forgiveness
Hmm what a Race
What a prize to Pay
Christ alone didn't tow this Way
A mortal man like Stephen is Speaking Today
That to see CHRIST face to Face
Through the turbulence of Wickedness we will Sway
For His presence will always be there to give us the much needed Grace.
