a trip down laughter

I saw the the wonderful humour of my generation destroyed,
How I mourned the fun.
A fun is marvelous. a fun is rattling,
a fun is howling, however.
A laughing, however hard it tries,
Will always be merry.
Now jolly is just the thing,
To get me wondering if the laughing is joyous.
Pay attention to the smile,
the smile is the most cunning facial expression of all.
Down, down, down into the darkness of the smile,
Gently it goes - the guileful, the tricksy, the ingenious.
