In the depths of my being, I long to reach out,
To text you, to inquire how you're doing each day,
But I know deep down, it will not change a thing,
For our connection has faded, faded away.
Those days when I believed we were in harmony,
But suddenly, everything altered in a flash,
Now I'm left questioning why and how it all went astray,
And what was it that I did to make this crash.
Why wasn't I enough to satisfy your soul?
I find myself gazing at old texts, pictures, and truth,
Remembering the joy we once embraced,
Now lost, and I'm left pondering my own worth.
If I could glimpse and comprehend myself anew,
Through another person's observing eye,
I'd witness my own energy, my essence,
A chance to understand the 'whys.'
No more power naps, no brief interludes of rest,
I yearn for a deep slumber to escape this pain,
In a world that perpetuates the notion of solace,
Leaving us to believe that solitude is our gain.
A tale of twisted manipulation, a chain of lies,
A narcissist's deceit, relentless and cunning,
They provoke our reactions, shifting the blame,
Distorting truth, leaving trails of smoke, ever-running.
In their deceitful dance, we're left off-balance,
Our perception skewed, shaken to the core,
Yet their intent is to displace our own self-worth,
To convince us that we bear the blame and more.
Never doubt yourself amidst their twisted web,
For their deception is a shameful path they tread,
You bear no guilt, their lies a veil of shame,
And the pain they inflict, lies solely on their head.
