A VAGUE VOYAGE

As you merrily waved from the egress
It hurt but somewhere genuine bliss
Resided imagining you at the finish line.
Then the inevitable sadness dawned upon me
And I took a vague voyage to home
As I ambled in the lanes of past,
Of those noons and evenings when I
Came upon a deeper meaning and design
Of togetherness and the deepest fondness.
Henceforth, I reheard the rhythm
Of my healing heart and with your gentle
Yet powerful touch I filled and stitched the holes.
I'm still mesmerized by how
You gave me the pieces of me I'd lost
In the wrath of love. I often wonder
If my emotions tantamount to yours.
But wouldn't you have thrown hints or signals
Or maybe I was too foolish to identify
Or you never aspired more than what we possessed.
Counting those probable chances
And unmasking signs of obscurity
I reached home, no clue of how and when.
