9 years like Yesterday
I remember so well
I was researching the war
Like I quite often did
An Interest of mine
Since I was a kid
I happened upon
The NAAFI website
And there was a box
Up the top on the right
When I first saw It
Yes I did groan
The caption read work
In the Active Zone
I clicked on the box
Which was also a link
I started to read It
And then got to think
I haven’t a job
So could do with the op
22K to work In a shop
3 Months later
I'm up In the sky
On Route to Bastion
Via Dubai
I settled right In
Worked In a shop
They moved me to Heroes
Then home for an Op
I got a flight home
With the “Royal Marines”
The real heroes
Fighting machines
I went back out
And just for starters
I got my own shop
In Bastion departures
I'd have done the same job
For minimum wage
But some of the bosses
Did make me rage
I met some great people
From all lands afar
And saved enough money
To buy a small car (Bike)
