Poverty is a problem we faced without a father
no financial support to take care of each other
without a dad we are not in wealth
this is why we may have poor health
I couldn't watch the tears running down my mother's cheek
most of the time we have nothing to eat
life is way rougher than I think
no clothes, no food, nothing to drink
I can count on my fingers the times I've seen you
are you alive?
are you dead?
do you even care?
sometimes I wonder what's going through your head
where were you when I needed support?
to cheer me up when I was down
they say it takes a village to raise a child
and my own father isn't apart of my life
night and day I cried
what if my father had died
all these struggles would still be here
and my life would be queer.
