Afloat (i’m a beginner please don’t judge!)
i’ve always been the type who is surrounded by people and making it seem easy.
like i somehow belong there.
no one sees how hard it is to be there in the first place.
how i rehearse those conversations in my head.
how i hate my voice and how it sounds when i talk.
i have friends everyone.
different groups, different laughs, different acts.
but never truly me.
i’m known but not seen.
heard but not understood.
i float.
that’s how i am.
i’m included but not truly wanted.
i’m there for everything but if i was gone j wouldn’t be missed.
i guess that’s why it means to be the floater friend.
never fully inside, but not fully outside.
just there.
i’m like the missing piece of a puzzle, im known for being the piece not being complete.
when i leave a group and see the laughing and pictures without me, i realized i was just a fill in.
they never really needed me there.
i think ive just learned to live with that.
always being present but never really there.
