Alcoholic

clouded thoughts brought unto me
alcoholic fits
should I bear the brutal sign
of enibriated fix
time ticks by the waking hour
clouds within my mind
can't stop the clocks to break the mould
and shake the sands of time

before the bottle I cry my shame
it shakes within my grasp
with every guzzle it screams my name
to foggy up my past.
shaking hands, I brace myself
the drugs will do their harm
should I stop my self deceit
and scars upon my arm
what if I wake up sober now
the sun has yet to set
but if I grasp the bottle tight
my past I'll soon forget.
the toxins seep into my blood
should pass the time of mine
do you remember what I forget
the highlight of my crime
alcoholic, that's not me
I can stop if I should please
but the bottle beckons unto me
and brings me to my knees.
