" I stood beside the walls of fire, staring at the burning pine
I was starting to lose hope, all i wanted was a sign
A sign to make me realise
That life was worth living
I could see all that life was taking
But not what it was giving
My love for life was slowly drifing far below zero
And in movies they say for every villain theirs a hero
The people in the movies, he says theirs always hope, but i see now he's a liar
Villains are surrounding me but all i see is fire
I watch as the fire fighters hose is always running
But the fire never stops, still burning ever so cunning
Why do they still bother? The fire never goes
The water keeps on spraying from a burning hose
I stood beside the flames and i knew it's my desire
What was holding me back right now
From jumping into the fire
And each day i ask myself, what are They fighting for?
I used to understand them, but now not any more
But one day the fires stopped, but all they left behind was dead
Just scars and wounds of the raging fires burning hot and red
I sat down in the field of burnt tree's in the feild of burnt pine
Just waiting for an answer
Just waiting for a sign
I held my knife, still waiting, still hoping for some kind of door
And just as i was about to give up
You won't believe what i saw
A little tree re-sprouting, so lush, so soft, so green
And then i knew the answer, to all the things i'd seen
Why the tree's grew back despite the dangers that they know
They'll never fear the fire, for it helps the forest grow
And succeeding in life does not mean you'll never fall
It's means when someone pushes you down, you'll stand back up, proud and tall
And it's not always about knowing all the answers
But asking all the questions
And when something hurts you, it shouldn't make you stay in darkness longer
When something comes to fight you it should only make you stronger
And as i stood up out of darkness as i broke the wall
The sky began to roar and then the rain began to fall
I realised why the fire fighters never stop their fight
Because the harder you fight the brighter the light
And you can't ask God for a sign while your eyes are shut, all you'll know is never
