Alone

I cry myself to sleep every night
Wishing that I wasn’t judged for who I lay with in bed
That all the hateful slurs would stop.
I go to school and can hear what you say
“Look at the faggot”
“Don’t get close to him or you’ll be gay too”
“Who in their right mind would like a gay guy?”
Will anybody help me?
Can I just go to the bathroom without getting beaten into a corner?
Someone please, PLEASE help me…
I’m alone in the bathroom now
Bruises all over my body
I hurt… I hurt so much…
Why does everyone hate me so?
Just because who I like isn’t the same as them?
Why can’t anybody accept me?
I’m home now
My parents just glare at me
They don’t say anything about the bruises.
I know they hate me...
They hate me just like everyone else does…
For the same reason too…
I lock myself in my bathroom
“I’m sick and tired of this!”
I scream as I break my mirror
I grab the biggest shard of broken mirror and press it to my wrist
“This is no way for a 13 year old to live”
I press the shard to my wrists and slice them open like butter
Tears run down my face as I collapsed to the floor
“Maybe now I’ll be happy”
I thought to myself as I took my last breath
I fell into the embrace of death with a smile on my face
And for the first time, I didn’t feel alone
