Alone By The Ocean

Clouds scatter across the darkened sky,
Wind driven mists set along the ocean shore.
I'm sitting alone, by the seaside,
Sitting here crying, longing for more.
I remember yesterday, in a moment of release,
When my life I once lived was at peace.
Seagulls cries pierce the roaring waters tonight,
What has brought me here, sitting all alone,
On a rocky rim of a deserted beach?
Our whole life is composed by the will within us,
My will wavers on the edge of death.
I see my life slowly fading away,
Leaving you I know is the means to my salvation.
Why does this night differ from a thousand other nights,
That I sat alone by the sea shore?
In my silence of healing, truth can somehow be deceiving,
When we try to deny what we are really feeling.
Living a life of disbelieving,
Only our intuition never lies,
We just don't like what it is revealing.
I stand alone with these feelings,
That I am so tired of concealing.
Denial of the Heart has lead me astray,
Why don't I just leave, you have left me in yesterdays pain.
My heart is alone, trying to find a way home,
Clinging and holding on to wilted dreams.
I breathe in the salty air, and I want to stay here forever,
I sink into the cold, silky, white sand,
I take on the beauty of the stars,
My mind starts to wonder, didn't JFK say,
"We all come from the sea"?
My realism will be the means to the end of this road,
That has lead me here.
Why didn't anyone ever teach me about the word betrayal?
Boundaries stolen begin to melt,
Years of tears slip into the sky.
No longer will I ponder what happened to you and I,
At this pathway's edge of my mind, all answers remain hidden in the sea.
My choices of the future are revealed to me,
By my true love, the seashore.
Tonight it holds me, gives me what I am looking for,
Sacred answers within my soul.
Waves that take a toll, lifted me and consoled,
Held me up by the high tide,
As I watch myself slip into the ocean,
And drown in my own riptide.
