In the dead of winter,
I had a dream
that I was flying.
Fly to the wide new realities
that are enclosing me
in this lovely planet.
It seems difficult to accomplish,
but it encourages my desire
to believe that
I can think of the impossibly
and make it clear.
From one pillar to another,
from a guest to the host,
I moved around while thinking about
and absorbed in my teenage aspirations and hopes, searching for contentment in
meagre things like money.
When reality hit,
I became grit-free.
A would-be king realised
how demanding being a
soldier was.
boulder of enormous responsibility
having my shoulder disabled
has made my heart colder
and my guts braver.
As I became older,
I lost all of my wealth,
but was still able to keep
the diamond of the desired content.
A humble sobriquet since birth,
I stood tall
acting little charitable of all
free of brawl;
the fire burned hotter;
there was no gloomy lack of desire
free of apparent mirth.
