I am a plant that grew in shade,
Where light was scarce, and love delayed.
My leaves were small, my roots unsure,
A fragile thing, not built to endure.
But you—you are a different sky,
A sun so warm, I can’t deny
The way your rays reach down to me,
And wake a life I’ve yet to see.
Your kindness falls like gentle rain,
It soothes the soil, it heals the pain.
Yet here I stand, my stems still tight,
Afraid to bloom, afraid of light.
What if my petals don’t unfold?
What if my colors aren’t as bold?
What if I wither, what if I fail,
And all I offer is a broken tale?
But still, your sun stays soft and near,
And whispers, “Grow, there’s nothing here to fear.”
So slowly, trembling, I stretch and rise,
A fragile bloom beneath your skies.
I’m learning how to drink your light,
To trust the day, to face the night.
With you, I’ll grow, I’ll find my way,
A flower born from your steady ray.
