ANNOTATE IN SILENCE

I long for escape, a journey into the unknown,
Where my insecurities won't bind me, and fears won't be shown.
Confined to my room, life moves at a sluggish pace,
While others thrive, I'm stuck in this desolate space.
I watch as people flourish, making their dreams come true,
While I remain imprisoned, unsure of what to pursue.
Engulfed by failures, my optimism dwindles low,
Questions plague my mind, answers hard to bestow.
Am I worthy of something, do I possess true potential?
Or am I merely a lost soul, an insignificant accidental?
The answers elude me, hidden within the seams,
But amidst the uncertainty, a few truths gleam.
Enclosed within boundaries throughout my life's duration,
The youngest of my tribe, sheltered with compassion.
Their love, their care, sometimes felt like a cage,
I question if it held me back or set me on a wrong stage.
I recognize the folly in doubting their intentions,
For their only desire was to protect me from life's tensions.
But this protectiveness engendered a stoic shell,
Burying emotions deep, a story I couldn't tell.
I yearned to break free, to release the locked gate,
And so, I turned to writing, where my true self could equate.
Unburdened, I penned my innermost thoughts on paper,
No longer hiding, but embracing vulnerability, a lifesaver.
Within the inked words, I discovered my own strength,
Realizing that my journey lies not in some foreign wavelength.
I hold the power within, a force to change my destiny,
Being sheltered, once deemed a curse, now relevant, you see.
So now, as I reflect on my journey of self-discovery,
I cherish the protection that once irked me with worry.
For in the cocoon of their love, I found solace in my pen,
Writing my silence, unraveling the layers within.
