Every day, every night
I'm surrounded by betrayers to give me a fright
I'm reminded by them that I'm inferior
Especially when I stare into an echoing mirror
Retorting into a barricaded barrier
In order to escape what they are -- superior.
Deep inside their mocking minds they all laugh at me
Hiding behind condescending smirks and being carefree
So, in an effort to stand up to those backstabbers
I show them my sister's drawings and blabber
Those emerald-green eyes stare into my fragile soul
As I stand on my shaky tip-toes, being a fool.
They smile a crooked smirk and compliment my sister
Who is absolutely perfect, an intelligent non-quitter
They wear a mask of humbleness; they gossip about losers
It's not fair, they're all overrated appraisers!
My blood boils and I scream a banshee's cry
They all have a superiority complex, oh, just why?
Inside I weep and doubt myself
Uncertainness is what I am in -- engulfed!
I will never come to terms with what they think of me -- pathetic
Just a lousy, wimpy fanatic
In the end, I know that I will never be as good as them
What's the point anymore? No one knows of me, a lamb
My sister hogs the spotlight I so desperately crave for
I need more validation! Give me more!
I'm reclusive, cowering in man-made disapproval
No, I won't accept this! This is not impartial!
Everyone hates me, I'm surrounded I say in a broken mirror.
