Grinning teeth in the cold, wet night,
Shaking in my cotton bedding, wrapped up tight,
Rain pours down, the clouds march on,
Shouting voices tell me to find someone to keep me warm.
But I won't settle for just any companion,
I won't choose a hippo, lion, or pig in desperation,
I've tried to walk the path of company,
But beauty without humanity leaves me empty.
I've read the book, joined the men,
All in an effort to end my simping trend,
But I've become the pro version, it seems,
No one to share warmth with, just my artificial means.
So I've bought a jiko, fighting the cold,
Life must go on, or so I've been told,
I'll keep searching for that special one,
Until then, I'll keep warming myself, one by one.
