As we know, the moon is slowly inching away from the Earth.
Why must the moon hide when the sun starts to show
Shying away from the embers, the glow
Our eyes stay untrained, entranced by the show
The dancing of flames sent from below
Look beyond he whispers, though few do hear
Close your eyes he says it shan’t be darkness you fear
The moon is light
She’s holy and white
But it bears crevices too
So do me and you
It’s pure and untouched and imperfectly so
Made to be that way, a brightness in her own
She doesn’t need to be envied
Desires no throne
She dazzles the night time
Gives us sight in soft tones
The end of a tunnel just enough to know
Bordering a paradise that doesn’t need a pull
“Reach for the stars” it’s easier so
The sun holds a magnet in the flames that row
Simply look to the moon
For if your brave enough to
You accept the fact that the light is the truth
Understand you not must
Touch the light with a trust
It doesn’t burn, like the sun
Doesn’t yearn for your eyes
It waits out your lies
Your touch bears no surprise
Only acceptance in which you shall rise
