At your door

We had a fight
I said some words
You slammed the door
I walked away
I leave you little notes of apology
But every one of them end up in the trash
I cooked you a apology meal
But there it is on the table, cold and untouched
On my way out
I walk past your room
You are just a door away
I want to knock but will you open the door?
Our bed was cold again tonight
I miss your touch, your smile and your silliness
I want to say sorry
Maybe even scream it out from the top of Mount Everest
But will you listen to the anguish in my voice?
Will you let me in if I knock at your door?
