Baby, come home..

She sits in her rocking chair every night.
She rubs her stomache because of the pain.
The doctor says to stay off her feet, so there won't be any fights.
The pain is unbearable and it comes on and off again.
The baby is due any day now and she's waiting for her husband to come back from the war.
She does not want to have her right now, not before he comes home.

The doorbell rings, its the police with news of her man.
When they said that he was shot and passed away, she fell to the side, she was not able to stand.
Her water broke, and the police rushed her to the hospital.
She was in shock, the doctor spoke
" your water broke, and now she's on her way out."
Lets get ourselves prepared for this little girl to enter the world.

Hours passed everyone was there to greet this little bundle of joy.
The one person who will never be there is her husband, the babies dad.
Everyone was not happy when they heard the news, it was too sad.
Instead of celebrating the birth, they will be burying the babies dad.

On his stone it will say - R.I.P. Mathew Smith, a brave man who has fought for his country. It was big enough for everyone to see.
She placed flowers on his grave stone, a bright light flashed by her, where she was sitting the light had shoned.
It was like he was there saying goodbye and letting her know that he's there.
A soft voice said " please, do not cry, I never meant to die."
She then felt a touch on her shoulder and a shiver went down her arm.
She knew it wasn't a bad thing, it was her husband who didn't mean no harm.

Something that was supposed to be happy, turned out to be sad.
Instead if saying " welcome home "
They were burying the babies dad.
Now, she must raise her alone and she will explain how much her daddy would of loved her, when she's all grown.
Someday we will join him, someday we will be going home.
