Back when you were young

Days are rough long and hard and you barely make enough to keep the family fed No one says hello anymore or chit-chat with the neighbors before they go to bed
Then you begin to think of old times of when you felt that you belong Back when you were young To a time you could do no wrong
Back in the good old days they would say is where you wanted to stay
With friends and family playing in the Sun back when you were Fancy free and having fun
People do tend to daydream or listen to old songs or tell tall tales of a time that you felt you belonged
Antime when life seemed easier and you had alot more fun You laughed and played all day outside where you climbed trees in the Sun
Today just doesn’t seem the same People today think of only money power and fame
They stay inside play video games to affraid to go out even on a sunny day
You shake your head and then you begin to cry If we don’t change our ways you believe that we all are going to die
So you begin to think of the past like a slice apple pie that.mom made but didn't last
Back when you were young
To a time you could do no wrong
Back in the good old days they would say is where you wanted to stay
With friends and family playing in the Sun back when you were Fancy free and having fun
Back to when you were young
These memories you cherish it makes you smile it makes you laugh and sometimes it makes you cry but you felt belonged
You tell stories to your kids grandkids about a time that they just don’t understand and ask why You then put on a smile and think of a time when you laid down in a grass field for hours looking up into the sky
Back when you were young
To a time you could do no wrong
Back in the good old days they would say is where you want to stay
With friends and family playing in the sun back when you were Fancy free and having fun
Back when you were young back when you felt you belonged
You then wake up to reality and know that those times are no more People don’t want tranquility
They want to hustle and bustle and get done fast They just don't care about the past
People just don’t realized what they’re missing of nice summer days Running barefoot in the fields and playing in the hay
There was always enough watermelon for everyone and all the corn on the cob you can eat
Going down to swim in the river backyard barbecues going to the game with Grandpa with shoes on your feet
These times are the ones that you really miss today Times when you don’t have a care in the world and you just go out and play
Back when you were young
To a time you could do no wrong
Back in the good old days they would say is where you want to stay
With friends and family playing in the Sun back when you were Fancy free having fun
Back when you were young
