Barely Enough

Barely Enough

She's clinging to the edge

but barely

her grip tenuous at best.

She grasps at whatever fragments of strength she can find

just to make it through the day.

Her gaze is narrowed to the present, refusing to stray into the uncertain terrain of next week or next month.

Today is all she can handle.

That's the mantra she's adopted,

the fragile lifeline that's kept her afloat this long.

Just get through today.

Just keep it together, today

One day at a time..

Barely Enough
