You don't get to win
when my battle mentality
turns to a war time strategy.
Retreat is not defeat;
it's a tactical decision,
a way to get my bearings.
I go behind my lines
and regroup in my mind.
A deep breathe
and then a roar,
I run from my defenses
in an attempt to strike
before your next commands are given.
Your bazookas turn to knives,
my hands turn to guns,
didn't you learn
to never underestimate the underdog?
