Life is full of trials, imperfections and endless tests
Through ones collective efforts, One can attest to the test life presents to our nest
Which requires doing your best to resist negativity
And resetting yourself to embrace positivity
Yet in both circumstances you might fall victim due to your choices and unplanned activities
So I choose to write about success
Because I know what failure entails
This keeps me thinking of always trying
Because I want to overcome the smiles of failure
I express happiness and joy
Because I know sorrow
I cherish relations and togetherness
Because I know what loneliness and rejection can do to the soul
I uphold my hopes and faith
Since I once lost mine and know how it feels to be broken
I believe in Christ
Not Because I know what idol worship did to my ancestors
But most importantly because of the dying need of redemption
I appreciate and show love
Because I know the ruin hatred caused my family
I talk about trust
Because I know what mistrust did to your relationship with that special someone
I prefer asking for directions
Because I don’t assume I know too much about locations
I preach about caring and giving
Because I know our existence is entirely due to others sacrifice
I value peace
Because I know what war and conflict did to other countries
I write about motherhood especially my mom OBAA YAA
Because I know how difficult it was raising us all alone
I vow for liberation
Because the effects of slavery doesn’t even make it a pleasant option
I adore nature
Because there is a mighty creator
I admire women
Not because I am philanderer
but because I know those creatures are complicated yet adorable friends that you can always keep to the end
I value life
Because it’s the foundation of hope; dum spero spiro, as we breathe we hope
I pray about wealth and health
Because I know what poverty and illness can do to living
I always show gratitude
Because appreciation gingers others to be more helpful
I utilise my pen and paper for in education lies knowledge
Because I know what illiteracy did to some past generations
I encourage hardworking
Because I know laziness is like a rain of destruction to man
I teach about respect and honour
Because obedience is always better than sacrifice
I choose to talk about me (DaCosta Kofi Aboagye)
