these moments are like butterflies
beautiful, fleeting and sweet
the nights when you fall asleep in my arms
and my heart somehow feels complete
your tiny hands resting on me
and the smell of your soft baby skin
the hush of rain falling outside
and the warmth of love within
these moments are everything
as you grow up so fast,
as you change day by day
as time sprints past
and your babyhood fades away
these moments are like gold to me
more precious than I can express
for anyone can find a gold mine
but no one else is the one you love best.
one day you may be too big for this
and you'll seek out your own path
but tonight,in this peaceful moment,
I pray this joy and love will last.
