(Mr. Perry and Jess walks back in the classroom)
Mr. Perry: Man, it looks really dark outside.
Jesus: Yeah they talking about its go be a thunderstorm.
Mr. Perry: It seems like it is almost night time so let me turn on the lights, when it looks like this I be wanting to stay home and Netflix and chill with my dog.
Class (laughing):
Mr. Perry: Okay guys, we are going to start the group discussion interpreting each others dreams, I have all the dream reports from Saturday, I am going to pass them out and I am going to read them aloud to you all and I want to hear everybody comment on each report, you have to comment or questions you want to ask to the subject, if you do not comment, you grade will go down, so you all have to participate, now each report I read about the subject, the subject cannot interpret his or her dream, for example, I am doing Drake’s report first, Drake can not say anything on his report only everyone else can, you guys understand?
Class: Okay.
Mr. Perry: I want everybody to make a circle with their desk.
Mr. Perry: Okay, Drake’s report was that he said it is in the early morning where he was on a school bus going on a field trip, it was a lot of kids on the bus, there were only three buses that were going to the same place and as he and the other students got to the place, him and the other kids got out, and he was thinking to himself what is this place? Why are we on a trip here? They were out in a nasty looking environment with abandon buildings, it looked like they were in the projects.
Class (laughing):
Anton: What kinda field trip was that?
Class (laughing):
Mr. Perry: Haha, I know right, I always wanted to go on a trip to the projects to see how it’s like out there.
Class (laughing):
Anton: Trust me, Mr. Perry, ain’t nothin adventurous out there for you to see.
Class (laughing):
Anton: You won’t make it out there, it ain’t for you.
Mr. Perry: I guess you are right, but hmm… yeah and the teachers told him to wander around the area, and he went in another direction and ended up getting lost and he got nervous and this little boy sensed that he didn’t know where his group was, so the little boy told him to follow him and they came across a bunch of guys playing basketball and he wanted to play and he did, but he kept losing the game and he got mad, and this dude grabbed Drake’s arm and said “naw boy, you finish what you started, you the one said you wanted to play this game,” and it seemed like the guys were strong so he took control in the dream and pushed him and Drake and the little boy ran off, and the alarm woke him. Okay guys, what do you think? And remember this is not a right or wrong answer, it is all about your thoughts.
Jesus: Do you like sports, Drake?
Drake: Yeah I do.
Jesus: Well I thought like by you liking sports has an effect on you playing sports in reality.
Mitch: Do you fight a lot?
Drake: Yeah sometimes.
Jess: That fight could be a warning to you, that you might have a fight for real.
Drake: You think so?
Jess: Yeah.
Chris: I’m thinking maybe that lil boy was yo guardian angel, that is guiding you in the right path preventing you from not fighting.
Mr. Perry: Awe wow, that is a great comment.
Drake: My guardian angel huh, I like that.
Dex: You stay in the projects?
Drake: Of course I do.
Class (laughing):
Vex: Have you been on a bad field trip before?
Drake: Naw, all the field trips I been on was fun.
Mr. Perry: Okay, next subject is Tim, and his report was he were walking into his cousin’s room at his grandmother’s house, and there was music coming from his drawers, it sounded like it was loud hip-hop songs coming from all of his drawer compartments, and it was so loud, he was deciding how to turn the volume down, and he was thinking to himself why am I hearing music inside the drawers? But there were no music devices in the drawer.
Staffon: you listen to hip hop right?
Tim: Of course I’m black.
Class (laughing):
Kiki: I'm thinking maybe it's a puzzle you were trying to solve trying to figure out where the music device was.
Mr. Perry: interesting.
Tim: I like that.
Jess: I thought you were annoyed by the music trying to turn it down.
Tim: yeah I was, it was loud.
Drake: Yo dream seems abstract with the illusion of hearing music from the drawers.
Mr. Perry: that was the word I was looking for, abstract describing this dream, anyone has any more comments or questions before I go on to the next subject?
Class (silent):
Mr. Perry: Okay, Jesus report was that he was 12, him and his father were camping out in a cabin in the woods, Jesus and his father were arguing because he was leaving his mother, his father said something was a lie what his mother said, but Jesus said it was not a lie, after that moment, he jumped out of a window and dropped down into the grass, after that he came across a big dog, he started talking to him and rubbing him, so what do you guys think?
Kiki: do you and yo father normally fight?
Jesus: My pops died a few years ago, actually, he got killed.
Mr. Perry: Oh I'm sorry to hear that, what happen if you do not mind me asking?
Jess: he worked at an auto company working on cars, one day while he was working beneath a car, a wheel fell off and the car fell on him.
Mr. Perry: oh wow, so sorry.
Jess: that's sad.
Jesus: yeah, I moved on.
Mr. Perry: that's good?
Jess: how often you think about yo father?
Jesus: a lot.
Jess: in my opinion, you still haven't moved on, you still think about yo father, that's what triggered you from having that dream remembering your father.
Mr. Perry: yeah, exactly.
Jesus: yeah, true.
Mr. Perry: any more comments guys?
Chris: do you have a dog?
Jesus: Naw.
Chris: do you like dogs?
Jesus: They ight.
Class (laughing):
Mr. Perry: Yeah, well it is time for you guy’s lunch break, we will finish this discussion when you all get back, but if we do not finish with all the subjects, we will continue tomorrow, okay see you when you get back.
