The moon reminded me of that night I betrayed you
I wanted to fly and hold it maybe to bring back what I once knew
But I lost grip of time
Memories of us by the river side, staring at the sky every night
Making vows that that I would stand by you forever
Shouting your name so loud
The same moon was our witness
So last night I didn’t get to see the moon
I was afraid, I had broken all my promises
Instead,
I lay down and tears ruled the mortal me
I regretted every lie and every ruthless word that burnt your soul
I remembered the many times you held me in forgiveness.
You gave me more than enough chances
But I kept letting you down
I pushed you away like you weren’t good enough for me
I wandered looking for love
I tired and got torn for the people I met because they only left me broken
Maybe Karma became part of my life
Now you’re married and happy
And I am shivering in this cold night
It’s midnight when I reverie of what we could have been
But you loved her who allowed you to show her love
I die of jealousy every morning wanting to kiss you but you wake up next to her
She carries your baby, I had promised to
I want this bloody moon to carry me away
To let me die in suffering for breaking my vows
I cannot hold anymore to the truth
I cannot stand anymore because each day I’m fading
Reminiscing the days we were love
Licking my bitter tears and hugging my wounded heart
I wanted to get bloody like the moon yesterday
And rest in peace
That would be only fair!
